Drunk driver in Bauska crashes into parked car
On Sunday in Bauska, a man driving an Audi while heavily intoxicated crashed into a parked Volvo, damaging it. Police have launched two administrative violation proceedings against the driver.
A traffic accident involving an intoxicated driver took place in Bauska on Sunday afternoon, September 13, according to State Police spokeswoman Rūta Strautniece.
Around 4 p.m., a man born in 1987 was driving an Audi while heavily under the influence of alcohol — a test showed a blood alcohol level of 1.43 per mille. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a parked Volvo, causing damage to it.
Administrative proceedings launched
Following the incident, police opened two separate administrative violation proceedings — one for the traffic accident itself and another for driving under the influence of alcohol. No information was provided about any injuries resulting from the crash.
