Bauska Store to Host Food Pack Drive for Families in Need
On Saturday, 17 October, a Rimi store in Bauska will hold a food pack collection drive run with the food bank “Paēdušai Latvijai” for families in hardship. It is the 20th such campaign.

On Saturday, 17 October, from 11:00 to 19:00, a food pack collection drive will take place at the Rimi store at 2 Pionieru Street in Bauska, Latvia. It is organised with the food bank “Paēdušai Latvijai” (“For a Well-Fed Latvia”) to support Latvian families in hardship. The retailer Rimi Latvia informed the local news portal about the event. This is the 20th such drive, and anyone can take part.
The donated packs will be passed on, in cooperation with the Food Bank and regional partner organisations, to people and families for whom this help matters most in daily life.
Products requested
Rimi asks shoppers to fill the packs with nutritious, long-life food: grains (rice, buckwheat, semolina, oat flakes, groats, pearl barley), legumes (beans, lentils, peas), flour and flour products, pasta, canned meat, fish, vegetables and fruit, oil, sugar, honey, tea, coffee and spices. Treats for children, such as chocolate, biscuits, dried fruit and nuts, are also welcome.
Agita Kraukle, head of the food bank, says every pack reflects someone's wish to help. She urges people shopping at any of the 53 Rimi stores on 17 October to add one more item to their basket.
