One Candidate Applies for Acting Director of Bauska Children and Youth Sports School
One candidate has applied for the position of acting director of the Bauska Children and Youth Sports School (BJSS), and the competition committee has deemed the candidate professional and suitable. An extraordinary council meeting is scheduled for July 1 to decide on the appointment.

At the Bauska municipal council meeting on June 25, the person who will temporarily lead the Bauska Children and Youth Sports School (BJSS) was not yet announced, although the competition for the acting director position has already concluded. Executive Director Ivars Romānovs explained that until now, the school's management has been rotated among deputy directors, but this solution is not sufficient in the long term. The deputies themselves acknowledge that their knowledge and skills are not adequate to fully perform the director's duties, prompting the competition.
The competition committee evaluated the sole candidate and deemed them professional and meeting the position's requirements. A draft decision for approval is currently being prepared. Deputy Chair of the Bauska Municipal Council Linda Abu Meri informed that an extraordinary council meeting will be convened on July 1, where deputies will decide on the candidate's approval. If the decision is positive, the new acting director could start work as early as July 2. The candidate's name is not being disclosed yet, respecting their request to publish it only after the council's decision.
It was previously reported that the Bauska municipal council decided in March to dismiss Biruta Grantiņa from the position of BJSS director following an audit. However, since the director is on long-term sick leave, employment relations have not yet been terminated. Consequently, the school's management has been rotated among deputy directors. The acting director will serve until the director's prolonged absence ends and the municipality can implement the council's decision.
