The Finance Committee of the Bauska Municipality Council in Latvia will consider 50 agenda items on Thursday, 22 October. They cover funding for education and sports institutions, rules on social services, the disposal of municipal real estate and the development plan of the local hospital. The decisions will affect schools, cultural bodies and residents across the municipality. The municipality informed the news outlet Bauskas Dzīve about the agenda.
Social services and premises for an association
One of the key items is approval of binding regulations "On social services in Bauska municipality". Deputies will also assess a proposal to give the association "Resiliences centrs" free use of premises in Iecava ("Aizupiešos") and in Bauska (Rīgas iela 64B). The association is registered in Latvia and provides psychosocial support, assistance and resources to children, teenagers, young people and their families.
Money for education, sport and culture
Additional funding is due to be considered for Vecumnieku Sports School, the Iecava sports school "Dartija" and Bauska Music and Art School. Budget amendments are planned for Bauska Children and Youth Sports School. Deputies will also discuss redirecting money earmarked for a vehicle for Zālīte Primary School to cover the school's maintenance costs.
The committee will look at funding for the Bauska Museum to buy a lawn tractor and a snow blower. It will also set the monthly salary rate of the director of the Bauska Children and Youth Centre from 1 October this year. The agenda further includes participation fees for the 150th anniversary celebrations and alumni reunion of Iecava Secondary School, as well as price lists for paid services at Pilsrundāle and Vecumnieki secondary schools.
Deputies will consider scholarships for three medical residents – Annija Krikščūne, Laura Stepiņa Vilde and Laura Marta Casno – and municipal co-funding for improving the energy efficiency of an apartment building at Bērzkalnu iela 57 in Bauska.
Real estate
More than half of the items concern real estate. Deputies will assess selling, or referring for sale, municipal land and buildings in various places: apartments in Bauska, properties in Code, Gailīši, Vecsaule, Valle and other parishes, and five garages in Pilsrundāle. They will also consider buying land in Code and Īslīce parishes for municipal functions and a property swap in Iecava.
Hospital development plan
At the end of the meeting, the committee plans to hear a report on the development plan of SIA "Bauskas slimnīca". Margarita Epermane, a member of the hospital company's board, will present it.
The meeting starts at 9:00 on 22 October. The agenda was signed by Guntis Kalniņš, deputy chair of the committee.
