Bauska Region: BMW Driver Caught Speeding at 177 km/h
Police in Bauska region caught a BMW driver exceeding the speed limit by 87 km/h, driving at 177 km/h in a 90 km/h zone. The driver was fined 1400 euros and banned from driving for 12 months.

On July 2, state police officers in Vecumnieki parish, Bauska region, recorded a significant speeding violation. According to police representative Rūta Strautniece, a BMW was stopped while traveling at 177 kilometers per hour. On the road section from Misa to the Iecava-Stelpe highway, the maximum allowed speed is 90 km/h, meaning the driver exceeded the limit by 87 km/h.
Police initiated administrative proceedings and imposed a fine of 1400 euros on the driver, a man born in 2007. Additionally, his driving rights were suspended for 12 months. The state police remind that outside populated areas, the maximum speed for all vehicles is 90 km/h unless otherwise indicated by road signs.
