Thousands still without power in Bauska municipality after storm
About 9,000 residents in Bauska municipality remain without electricity following the weekend storm, with some also lacking water supply. In Grenctāle, power has been out since Saturday evening with no timeline for restoration.

A meeting of the Bauska municipality Civil Protection Commission has determined that around 9,000 residents are still without electricity following the storm that swept through over the weekend. Some of the affected households have also lost access to water supply.
The village of Grenctāle has been particularly hard hit, having gone without power since Saturday evening — meaning residents there have now been without electricity for nearly two full days.
No timeline for restoration
The grid operator "Sadales tīkls" has so far not provided the municipality with information on when the storm damage will be repaired and power supply restored. As a result, local authorities are currently unable to give residents a clear timeframe for when the problem will be resolved.
The situation was assessed during a meeting of the municipality's Civil Protection Commission, which gathered information on the damage the storm caused to infrastructure in the area.
