Bauska wraps up “Run Bauska’s Laps” health running series
The town of Bauska has completed this year’s “Run Bauska’s Laps” health running series, with 223 participants covering a combined 2,768 kilometers over six sessions. Organizers plan to hold the event again next year.

The final leg of this year’s “Run Bauska’s Laps” (Izskrien Bauskas apļus) health running series took place on September 8 at the stadium of the Bauska Municipality Children and Youth Sports School. The series ran monthly, on the second Tuesday of each month, starting in May.
Across all six legs, 223 people took part, together completing 6,920 laps, or 2,768 kilometers. The final session alone drew 126 participants, each given half an hour to cover as many laps as possible.
Event organizer Artūrs Dulbe, chief specialist at the Bauska Municipality Sports and Health Department, said the main goal was simply to get people moving, regardless of pace — whether they ran, walked, or strolled.
Top results
The fastest finisher in the last session was Airids Razma, who lives in Jelgava and works at the Bauska café “Rātslaukums.” He also competed in this year’s Latvian championship 10-kilometer race, and in Bauska he covered 20 laps, or eight kilometers, in half an hour. Raivo Kauņeckis placed second and Rolands Piekus third, while Deniss Macevičs finished fourth with 18 laps. In the under-14 age group, Patriks Levāns also completed 18 laps.
