Bedrītis and Rinkevičs secure Hamburg Elite16 main draw with convincing wins
Latvian beach volleyball pair Ardis Bedrītis and Artūrs Rinkevičs earned a spot in the Hamburg BPT Elite16 main draw on Wednesday, winning both qualifying matches without dropping a set.

Latvian beach volleyball duo Ardis Bedrītis and Artūrs Rinkevičs secured a place in the main draw of the Hamburg Elite16 tournament of the Beach Pro Tour (BPT) with victories on Wednesday in Germany. The pair, seeded fifth in qualifying, advanced without losing a set.
In the first round, the Latvians defeated Austrians Michael Klemens and Alexander Huber (12) 21:11, 21:13. In the decisive qualifying match, they beat Germans Jonas Reinhart and Robin Sowa (13) 21:15, 21:16. The main competition is set to start on Thursday.
Another Latvian pair, Edgards Točs and Gustavs Auziņš, seeded seventh, were eliminated in the opening round, losing 1:2 (13:21, 21:12, 16:18) to Germans Niklas Held and Luis Kuba (10).
Already through to the main draw are Mārtiņš Pļaviņš and Kristians Fokerots, who won the Rio de Janeiro Elite16 last week, while Tīna Graudiņa and Anastasija Samoilova will compete in the women's event. In the BPT ranking, Elite16 is the top tier, followed by Challenge and Futures.
