Bezzecchi Claims Second Straight Pole at Misano

Pedro Bezzecchi delivered a strong qualifying performance at the Misano circuit, setting the fastest lap to secure pole position for the upcoming race. It marks his second consecutive pole of the season and his fourth qualifying victory in the 2026 championship. Reigning world champion Marc Marquez finished second, trailing the Italian rider by just under two-tenths of a second.

Surprises and setbacks

Gresini rider Fermin Aldeguer provided one of the session's surprises, advancing through Q1 and landing on the front row in third place, ahead of VR46's Fabio Di Giannantonio, who finished fourth. Championship leader Jorge Martin rounded out the top five, bouncing back from a difficult practice session to post a solid qualifying result. Luca Marini completed the second row.

The session was not without incidents. Gresini's Alex Marquez crashed twice, at turn eight and turn four, which prevented him from fighting for a higher grid spot and left him in ninth place. An even bigger disappointment came for two-time champion Francesco Bagnaia at his home round, who made a mistake on his flying lap and ended up only 14th, later venting his frustration at his factory Ducati machine.

The sprint race at Misano begins today at 16:00, while the main Grand Prix will be held on Sunday at 15:00.
