Fury vs. Joshua fight finally confirmed for December

Britain's two leading heavyweight boxers, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, will finally meet in the ring later this year. The fight has been set for December 11 in Cardiff, after the choice of venue proved to be one of the sticking points during negotiations between the two camps, which were eventually resolved.

The bout will be broadcast live via the streaming platform Netflix, which has already hosted several boxing events in recent years. Given the size of the US entertainment market, the fight card could effectively begin on the morning of December 11, UK time.

A long-awaited showdown

Fury and Joshua have long been regarded as the top heavyweights in the United Kingdom, and talks between them have come close to producing a fight several times before, only to fall through. Fury has previously announced his retirement from boxing on more than one occasion, each time returning to the ring shortly after.

The 38-year-old Fury has fought 39 times in his career, winning 36. Both of his career losses came against Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk, while his 2018 bout against Deontay Wilder ended without a winner declared.

The 36-year-old Joshua has fought 34 times, winning 30. Two of his four defeats also came against Usyk, with the others against Andy Ruiz Jr. and Daniel Dubois. In December, Joshua defeated YouTube personality Jake Paul by knockout.
