Bellingham and Gordon score 9/10 as England dominate Croatia - player ratings

England produced a dominant display against Croatia, with BBC Sport's player ratings highlighting Jude Bellingham as the best man on the pitch.

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford (6) made an early, well-judged save racing off his line to beat Ivan Perisic to the ball, though he had little else to do and was fortunate when Mateo Kovacic spurned a glaring chance. Jarell Quansah (8), a surprise selection at right-back ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold, impressed with powerful running, solid defending and an underrated passing range, setting up Anthony Gordon's goal.

In central defence, Ezri Konsa (7) and Marc Guehi (7) both delivered composed performances, with Guehi forced into some risky positions as England pressed man-for-man across the pitch. Newcastle's Lewis Hall (7) looked a strong addition at left-back, offering pace and also drifting into midfield.

Elliot Anderson (8) continued his fine run of international form, playing a mature role in midfield and teeing up Harry Kane for England's fifth goal. Bournemouth's Alex Scott (7), handed his first England start, played with confidence and consistently looked to get on the ball.

Bellingham (9) was the standout, threading the pass for Kane's opener, scoring England's second goal himself and setting up Bukayo Saka for the fourth. Saka (8) scored twice and is building a promising partnership with Quansah, though he missed a chance for a hat-trick. Anthony Gordon (9) assisted Bellingham's goal and scored himself, netting in a fourth consecutive England appearance. Captain Harry Kane (9) was praised as an elite finisher, scoring both the opening and fifth goals while linking play with Gordon and Bellingham throughout.
