Belohvoščiks Places 27th in Individual Time Trial at Sibiu Cycling Tour
Latvian cyclist Kristers Belohvoščiks finished 27th in the individual time trial of the Sibiu Cycling Tour's first stage, losing 14.92 seconds to the winner. The four-stage race in Romania concludes on Tuesday.

The Sibiu Cycling Tour in Romania continued with the second part of the first stage, a 3.2-kilometer flat individual time trial. Dane Julius Johansen of UAE Team Emirates - XRG claimed victory with a time of 4 minutes and 16.73 seconds. He beat his teammate, Portuguese Ivo Oliveira, by 2.02 seconds, while Dutchman Mick van Dijke (Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe) finished third, 6.26 seconds back.
Latvian rider Kristers Belohvoščiks (Bike Aid) placed 27th among 131 competitors, trailing the winner by 14.92 seconds. Earlier on Saturday, in the first part of the stage (a 110.5 km road race), he had finished 12th.
After the first day's two segments, Johansen leads the general classification, two seconds ahead of Oliveira and three seconds ahead of Dane Mathias Malmberg (Swatt Club). Belohvoščiks is 27th overall, 15 seconds behind the leader. The four-stage event concludes on Tuesday.
