Benn uncertain about future after loss to Garcia

British boxer Conor Benn, 29, suffered only the second defeat of his ten-year professional career on Saturday in Las Vegas, stopped in the second round by American Ryan Garcia, who retained his WBC welterweight world title.

It was Benn's first fight at welterweight in more than four years, and he had previously stated it would be his last bout in that weight division.

Uncertainty ahead

Following the defeat, Benn wrote on Instagram that he does not have an answer to the question of what comes next for him. He said he has always wanted to serve the public and give everything he has when it matters, but acknowledged that this dedication comes at a cost.

He noted that his family and children have paid that cost the most, having had to share their father's time with the sport throughout their lives as he chased his dream. For now, he said, his answer to what's next is simple: time with his kids.

Benn did not give any specific indication of whether or when he plans to return to the ring.
