Bournemouth agree deal for Elche striker Rodriguez
Bournemouth have reached an agreement with Elche for striker Alvaro Rodriguez, with an initial fee of £21.4m potentially rising to £25.7m. The 21-year-old is set to undergo a medical and sign a five-year contract on Monday.

Bournemouth have agreed a deal for Elche striker Alvaro Rodriguez, with an initial fee of £21.4m that could rise to £25.7m with add-ons. The 21-year-old is expected to complete his medical and sign a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium on Monday.
Real Madrid, who sold Rodriguez to Elche last summer, will receive 50% of any transfer fee. The Uruguay youth international is also eligible to represent Spain.
The Cherries are looking to strengthen after qualifying for the Europa League with a record Premier League finish under Andoni Iraola, who left to become Liverpool manager. Marco Rose, formerly of RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund, has taken over. The club is targeting a striker and a left-sided centre-back this summer.
Any new striker would compete with and support Evanilson, while Bournemouth are open to selling Turkey forward Enes Unal for the right price. The club hopes for a more stable summer than last year, when three of the first-choice back four and the starting goalkeeper departed.
Several clubs have shown interest in midfielder Alex Scott, reportedly valued at around £80m. However, club sources insist he is not for sale despite enquiries from Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United. Bournemouth hope Scott will sign a new contract on improved terms, potentially including a future release clause similar to the one that preceded Antoine Semenyo's move to Manchester City for around £65m in January.
The club has also finalised its pre-season tour schedule, announcing games against St Pauli and Augsburg in Austria, as well as away matches against Real Betis and Mainz. Genoa will also face Bournemouth at their training ground this summer.
