Bournemouth midfielder Scott rejects new contract
Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has turned down a new contract offer amid growing interest from several top Premier League clubs.
Bournemouth's Alex Scott has rejected the club's proposal for a new contract, with the England Under-21 international attracting attention from multiple Premier League giants. The Cherries had made extending Scott's deal a summer priority, but no agreement has been reached as of now.
Interest in the 22-year-old comes from Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham, Manchester City, and Chelsea. In June, BBC Sport reported that Arsenal had an approach for Scott rejected by Bournemouth.
Scott joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 for £25 million and has two years remaining on his current contract. He received his first call-up to the England senior squad last November and was later included in Thomas Tuchel's extended pre-World Cup training camp in Florida, but he has yet to make his senior international debut.
Scott began his career at Guernsey FC before moving to Bristol City in 2020, where he made 91 appearances in the Championship. After being named the division's Young Player of the Season for 2022-23, he moved to Bournemouth, where he has played 89 games and scored six goals.
He helped Bournemouth secure a sixth-place finish in the 2025-26 Premier League season under Andoni Iraola, earning the club its first-ever qualification for the Europa League.
