Latvia's U-16 basketball team captain Bendžamins Jānis Berjē has been named the most valuable player of the European U-16 Championship and included in the tournament's all-star five. In the final he scored 22 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked three shots.
Bendžamins Jānis Berjē, captain of Latvia's U-16 men's basketball national team, capped off the European U-16 Championship with an individual honor, being named the tournament's most valuable player.
Berjē performed consistently throughout the competition and stood out as the team's leading force. In the decisive final match, he scored 22 points, collected 13 rebounds and blocked three of his opponents' shots, underlining his central role on the squad.
All-tournament team
Another Latvian player, Markuss Jahovičs, was also named to the tournament's all-star five. The lineup further includes Lithuania's Danieļus Jasikevičs, France's Mesija Getāns Ivani and Spain's Rīss Robinsons.
The European U-16 Championship brings together the continent's top youth national basketball teams, with the MVP award presented following the tournament final.
