Berue named MVP of European U16 Championship, Jahovics makes All-Tournament Team
Latvian basketball player Benjamins Berue has been named MVP of the European U16 Championship, while teammate Markuss Jahovics was included in the tournament's All-Tournament Team.

Following Latvia's U16 basketball team's championship win at the European Championship, the tournament's individual awards have also been announced. Team leader Benjamins Berue was named Most Valuable Player, while another Latvian player, Markuss Jahovics, was named to the tournament's symbolic All-Tournament Team.
Berue's dominant numbers
Berue's MVP award is described as essentially a formality, as he led the entire championship in points scored, rebounds, blocked shots, and overall efficiency rating, finishing more than 14 efficiency points ahead of the next-best player. Averaging 32.9 minutes per game, Berue posted 23.6 points, 15.0 rebounds, 3.6 blocks, 4.1 assists and a 36.3 efficiency rating per game, while committing an average of 3.0 turnovers.
Jahovics' contribution
Markuss Jahovics averaged 28.1 minutes per game in the tournament, scoring 18.7 points, grabbing 3.3 rebounds and adding 1.8 assists, along with 1.8 steals per game. He averaged 1.5 turnovers per game and shot 43% from three-point range, attempting more than eight three-pointers per game on average.
Rest of the All-Tournament Team
Alongside the two Latvian players, one representative from each of the other semifinalists was also named to the symbolic team. Power forward Massyle Getane Ivany was recognized from finalist France, forward Reece Robinson from bronze medalist Spain, and point guard Danielius Jasikevičius from Lithuania's national team.
