The hosts took the lead in the 29th minute when, following a cross into the penalty area and a headed assist from Renato Veiga, Gerard Fernandez scored from close range.
Betis responded quickly. In the 39th minute, Abde Ezzalzouli broke into the penalty area down the left flank, and although goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi saved his shot, Cucho Hernandez was first to react to the rebound, leveling the score.
Just four minutes later, Betis took the lead. Following a corner-kick delivery, Brazilian defender Natan proved sharpest amid the goalmouth scramble and found the net. That goal decided the final result, as no further goals were scored in the second half.
Standings
After matchday five, Barcelona remain top of the table with 15 points, followed by Real Madrid on 12. With this win, Betis also reached 12 points and sit in third place, though behind Real Madrid on goal difference.
Elsewhere in the round, Real Madrid beat Rayo Vallecano 4:1 at home, Atletico Madrid thrashed Real Sociedad 3:0 away, and Barcelona won 4:2 away against Levante. In the scoring charts, Raphinha, Sergio Camello, Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal share the lead with six goals each.
