Ex-Defence Minister Fedorov Presses Zelenskyy to Say Whether He Knew About Corruption Near Him
Former Ukrainian defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov says President Volodymyr Zelenskyy owes the public an answer on whether he knew of possible corruption in his inner circle. The comments follow an investigation into an alleged money-laundering scheme allegedly involving a senior Office of the President official.

Former Ukrainian defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov said in an interview with the BBC that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy must publicly answer whether he was aware of possible corruption among people close to him.
Fedorov's remarks came in response to a recent anti-corruption investigation into an alleged money-laundering scheme. According to the probe, a senior official within the Office of the President may have been involved.
Fedorov's demand
The former minister said the case raises the question of whether Zelenskyy knew about possible corruption within his inner circle. "Let him answer this question... I believe that he's ready for such questions. It's his responsibility to tell us all whether he was aware of all that or not... I don't want to make any assumptions," Fedorov said.
Background to the dispute
Zelenskyy has previously said that Fedorov proposed that both he and Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi be dismissed, amid tension between the two men. Fedorov has also said he would be willing to return to the post of defence minister.
