Ukraine's Former Defense Minister, Recently Dismissed, Unveils 'Army of Robots' Plan
Ukraine's recently dismissed former defense minister has announced an 'Army of Robots' initiative aiming for tens of thousands of cheap unmanned units, with a target cost of $10,000 per machine.

Ukraine's former defense minister, who was suddenly removed from his post, has announced an initiative he calls the 'Army of Robots.' The plan envisions equipping the armed forces with tens of thousands of unmanned machines capable of taking over some of the most dangerous tasks currently carried out by soldiers.
Tasks to Be Handed to Machines
According to the former minister, these robotic units would be used to carry ammunition, evacuate wounded soldiers from the battlefield, clear mines, and hold defensive positions — roles that have historically cost many soldiers their lives.
Cost Target and Scale
He stated that the goal is to keep the cost of each unit around $10,000, while the overall need is estimated at tens of thousands of units. According to him, achieving this scale and price point would allow widespread deployment of such technology along the front line, reducing the risk currently faced by soldiers performing these tasks manually.
The announcement comes shortly after the former minister himself was unexpectedly dismissed from his position, though he continues to publicly share his vision for military technology development and how automation could reshape warfare while reducing human casualties.
