Former "New Latvians" member Chernyavska praises toilets at a Moscow train station

Olga Chernyavska, a former representative of the political force "New Latvians" who once tried to enter the European Parliament as a homemaker before later leaving Latvia to settle in Russia, has taken on a new online role — reviewing public restrooms.

In her latest video, filmed at a Moscow railway station, Chernyavska enthusiastically describes the cleanliness and design of the toilets there, drawing a comparison with the situation at Riga's Central Station. In the video, she highlights ordinary features — stairs, lighting, the presence of a flower shop, elevators, arches, a clock, and security guards — presenting them as evidence of Moscow's superiority over Riga.

"You've never even dreamed of toilets like these"

In the video, Chernyavska says that people in Riga have never even dreamed of toilets as clean and beautiful as these, and urges viewers to recall the state of the restrooms at Riga's Central Station, adding that those also require payment. She closes the video expressing admiration for Moscow, calling it "sunny."

The activist had previously become known for videos portraying what she describes as an idyllic life in Russia.

Reaction in Latvia

Social media users in Latvia responded to the video with irony, suggesting Chernyavska travel outside Moscow to film sanitary conditions and outhouses in Russia's more remote regions, where the picture would reportedly look very different from what is shown in the capital.
