Former Taekwondo Star Inese Tarvida Gets Married and Expects Baby

Inese Tarvida, a former Latvian taekwondo star, has experienced two significant milestones in her personal life this year: she has gotten married and is expecting her first child.

Tarvida announced the pregnancy on May 22 by posting images on social media showing her baby bump. In the caption, she wrote that love had become visible, revealing that she and her partner are expecting a child.

Nearly a month later, the former athlete shared photos from her wedding. She appears in an elegant dress alongside her husband, Audris Sarkans. Tarvida also specified the wedding date: June 12, 2026.

Inese Tarvida is one of the most decorated Latvian taekwondo athletes of all time. The 26-year-old won two bronze medals at the World Championships and earned medals in all three categories at the European Championships. In 2024, she came close to qualifying for the Paris Olympics but lost in the semifinals of the decisive qualification tournament. She announced the end of her professional career in May 2025.
