Ex-Wimbledon champion Vondrousova given four-year ban
Czech tennis player Marketa Vondrousova, the former Wimbledon champion, has been handed a four-year ban for refusing an anti-doping test in December 2025.

Former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova has been banned for four years after refusing to submit to an anti-doping test last year. The 26-year-old Czech was charged by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) after she denied entry to a doping control officer who arrived at her home to conduct a test in December 2025.
In April, Vondrousova claimed she feared for her safety when the officer called and alleged that proper protocol was not followed. However, a tribunal determined that she had "no compelling justification" for refusing the test. Vondrousova, who became the first unseeded player to win the Wimbledon women's singles title in 2023, will remain suspended until 21 June 2030.
