Undefeated MMA prospect Bilal Hasan will make his long-awaited debut in the UFC — the world's leading mixed martial arts organization — on August 29. He faces Nilson Rojas, also making his promotional debut, at UFC Shanghai. According to MJVibe, the two unbeaten fighters will open the event's main card.
Hasan earned his UFC contract through Dana White's Contender Series. Per figures compiled by Kingpin Sports, he enters the bout with a 9-0-0 record, including seven knockout wins and one submission win. Rojas holds an identical 9-0-0 record, also with seven knockout finishes.
'Sounds like a prophecy'
Hasan, a self-described huge Michael Jackson fan, sees special significance in the timing: his UFC debut lands on the pop icon's birthday. "It still feels so surreal to be halfway across the world fighting in China on August 29th on Michael Jackson's birthday," Hasan said, as quoted by MJVibe. "Sounds like something out of like a prophecy or something like that. It still doesn't feel real." He has promised fans a Michael Jackson-inspired walkout for the occasion, along with what he calls a full performance from start to finish.

Meanwhile, Kingpin Sports, in its daily UFC predictions roundup, lists the fight as a low-confidence bet and slightly favors Rojas at +625 odds (Draftkings). The outlet's model projects a 14.5% win probability for Rojas against a 13.8% break-even threshold, translating to a modeled return of about 5.1% per unit at that price. However, the analysts themselves note that the available knockout and submission numbers for both fighters show no clear advantage either way — meaning the pick is described as price-sensitive rather than a claim of a clear mismatch.
The main card, including the Hasan-Rojas bout, is scheduled to stream live on Paramount+ starting at 6 a.m. ET on Saturday, August 29.
