Bright, squeezable, stretchable, and kneadable items known as sensory fidget toys have rapidly become popular worldwide. They are also available for order in Latvia, but dangerous usage methods have been spreading on social media.

Doctors are raising alarms—in some cases, children have suffered such extensive and painful skin damage that skin grafts were required. In particularly severe instances, children were even placed into medically induced comas. Specialists stress that the problem lies not in the toys themselves, but in their improper use.
