Bluesky adds iPad support and external links to profiles
The social network Bluesky has released an update that includes beta support for iPad tablets and the option to add links to other platforms on user profiles.

The social network Bluesky has rolled out its latest feature update, with the main additions being beta support for Apple's iPad tablets and links to external sites on user profiles. The changes are meant to improve how the network looks and performs on those devices.
The Bluesky iPad app is still in beta testing. Users who run into bugs or glitches can send feedback through the Beta Features section of the Settings menu.
Links at the top of profiles
The second new option is aimed at self-promotion. Users can now place links to external platforms at the top of their profiles. The company presented it as a way for creators to get better support from their Bluesky audiences, by connecting profiles to crowdfunding platforms such as Patreon or Ko-fi, or to additional content on a website or newsletter.
It may also reduce the "link in bio" phrasing that appears in many social media posts. The links are added through the Edit Profile menu, which now has a Links section where external sites can be listed.
