BMW reveals M3 forerunner – concept with four electric motors
At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, BMW presented the M Concept Neue Klasse – an electric sports concept previewing future M models with four electric motors, 800V architecture, and a design inspired by racing.

A concept with racing DNA
BMW chose the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the world premiere of the M Concept Neue Klasse. This concept car marks a new direction for BMW M design and the evolution of electric sports cars. The muscular proportions are complemented by enhanced aerodynamics, including a Ducktail spoiler and diffuser at the rear. The front combines headlights with the traditional BMW kidney grille. Distinctive yellow M Yellow Lights and Track Lights are borrowed from the BMW M Hybrid V8 racer.
Minimalist cockpit with tech
The interior features a driver-focused minimalist layout with bucket seats and five-point safety belts. The cabin is trimmed in black Alcantara and natural fiber elements. A digital cockpit displays M-specific functions.
Technical highlights
The concept is based on the Neue Klasse 800V architecture and packs a battery of over 100 kWh. Its BMW M eDrive all-wheel-drive system uses four electric motors. Exact power output hasn't been disclosed, but BMW promises significantly higher performance than current electric models. The new M Dynamic Performance Control software manages individual torque distribution to each wheel, enabling high recuperation power, precise handling, and maximum traction.
Towards the production M3
This concept serves as a preview for series production models, including the upcoming electric BMW M3 expected around 2027.
