The Latvian national bobsleigh team will organise outreach selection tests in Jelgava on 24 August. The event is aimed at introducing young people to bobsleigh and finding new athletes who could join the sport in the future. The Jelgava Sports Service Centre said the tests will take place at the Jelgava Sports Hall starting at 10:00.

Participation is open to young people aged 14 and above who want to test their physical abilities and consider a sports career in bobsleigh. The organisers are looking for candidates who could potentially become part of the national team.

Emīls Cipulis, the head coach of the national team, noted that there is no maximum age limit for applicants. He said that it is possible to take up bobsleigh at a later age, so older participants are also welcome.

During the selection process, organisers will evaluate participants' physical capabilities, speed, strength and motivation. These criteria will help coaches determine which candidates are best suited for bobsleigh.

Those wishing to take part in the tests are required to register in advance. The organisers encourage young people to seize this opportunity to learn more about the sport and assess their own potential.
