Boox Unveils Third-Generation Palma 3 E-Reader
Boox has announced three new E Ink devices, including the long-awaited Palma 3, a smartphone-shaped e-reader with an aluminum build. The device is expected to launch soon, though no exact release date has been set.
Boox, known for its range of E Ink devices that mimic the look of ink on paper, has released three new products: the Note Air6 C, Note Mini C, and Palma 3.
The Note Air6 C is a $580 digital notebook featuring a 10.3-inch color Kaleido 3 display and running Android 16. New firmware brings a Dual Notes feature for annotating two documents side by side, along with several AI features such as meeting and audio insight summaries and document summarization. It is the only one of the three devices currently available for purchase.
The Note Mini C is priced the same as its larger sibling at $580 but comes with a smaller 8.52-inch screen using the same Kaleido 3 color display. Both models share an octa-core processor, 6 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage, expandable up to 2 TB via microSD. The Note Mini C has not yet gone on sale, with Boox saying it is coming soon.
A pocket-sized refresh
The most anticipated release is the Palma 3, the latest entry in Boox's popular smartphone-shaped Palma line, priced at $340. It runs on Android 16 and features a 6.13-inch black-and-white E Ink screen with a dual-tone front light and an ambient light sensor. The device also includes a rear camera primarily intended for document scanning, dual microphones, and a customizable smart button. Unlike the plastic-bodied Palma 2, the Palma 3 features an aluminum build. Boox has not announced an exact release date, saying only that the device is coming "soon."
