Latvia Issues Heat Warning for the Weekend
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center has issued a warning for strong heat this weekend, with temperatures expected to reach and exceed +30°C in many areas.

The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center (LVĢMC) has issued a warning for intense heat expected this weekend. On Friday, the sky will be partly cloudy, with fewer clouds in the western and central regions. Nighttime will bring isolated rain showers, while central and eastern parts may experience thunderstorms and heavy downpours. Overnight lows will range from +13 to +18°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +20...+25°C across most of the country. In some parts of Kurzeme, the mercury may reach +28°C.
Over the weekend, a hot air mass from Western Europe will reach Latvia, causing temperatures to hit or exceed +30°C in many places. The following week will be dominated by an anticyclone, bringing mostly sunny and dry weather. However, at the end of the month, after the hottest days, thunderstorms with heavier precipitation are expected. The strong heat will subside in early July, but temperatures will remain summer-warm.
