Diamond League final in Brussels: shot put spectacle and a wave of records, Sietiņa fifth in javelin

The world athletics season concluded with the Diamond League final in Brussels, where several meet records were broken. Latvian javelin thrower Anete Sietiņa finished fifth among six competitors.

The Diamond League athletics season concluded in the Belgian capital, Brussels, bringing together many of the world's strongest athletes for the final meet. On the closing day of competition, Jamaican shot putter Rajindra Campbell drew attention by becoming one of the few athletes in history to surpass the 23-metre mark in the shot put.

Records across events

Several disciplines at the Brussels meet saw competition records improved, reflecting the high level of competition in the season-ending event.

Latvian representative

Latvian athlete Anete Sietiņa competed in the javelin throw, an event that featured six participants in total. Sietiņa finished the competition in fifth place, behind the athletes who placed higher in the overall standings.
