British AI neocloud Nscale raises $3.36B ahead of U.S. IPO
British AI infrastructure company Nscale has secured $3.36 billion in convertible financing ahead of its planned U.S. IPO. The round is led by hedge fund Third Point, with part of the funds coming from existing investor Nvidia.

British company Nscale, which operates in the AI data center or "neocloud" sector, announced on Friday that it has secured $3.36 billion in financing ahead of its planned initial public offering in the United States later this year. The funding is structured as convertible notes, reflecting the enormous capital required to build out AI data centers.
The round is led by hedge fund Third Point. Of the total amount, $2.36 billion is immediately available to the company, while an additional $1 billion will come from existing investor Nvidia, expected to be received in mid-November. The notes will convert into equity shares once the IPO is completed.
Upcoming IPO
Nscale filed its IPO paperwork the previous week, and according to the Financial Times, the company is expected to be valued at $35 billion on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Bloomberg reported that the company is seeking to raise $3 billion in the offering.
Rapid growth trajectory
Nscale was spun out of Australian cryptocurrency mining company Arkon Energy two years ago. Since then, according to its IPO filing, the company has amassed contracts worth more than $103 billion. Nscale is currently developing several large data center campuses, including in Norway and West Virginia in the U.S.
