UK band Take That to play Tartu on 2027 'Dreamers' tour
British pop legends Take That will perform at the Tartu Song Festival Grounds on June 16, 2027, as part of their European "Dreamers" tour — their first Estonian appearance in more than a decade.
British boy band legends Take That will head to Estonia next summer as part of their European "Dreamers" tour, marking their first appearance in the country in more than ten years. Three of the group's five original members — Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen — are set to perform at the Tartu Song Festival Grounds on June 16, 2027.
Formed in Manchester in 1990, Take That is regarded as one of the most influential boy bands of its generation. The original lineup also included Robbie Williams, who later became a major solo star. The band's catalog includes some of British pop's best-known songs, among them "Back for Good", "Never Forget", "Pray", "Relight My Fire", "Patience", "Shine", "Greatest Day" and "Rule the World" — the latter performed at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.
History and comeback
Williams left the band in 1995 to pursue a solo career, and Take That split a year later. A decade on, a documentary and a greatest-hits collection reunited Barlow, Donald, Owen and original member Jason Orange, leading to the comeback album "Beautiful World" (2006) and "The Circus" (2008). Williams rejoined for the 2010 album "Progress", which became the fastest-selling album of the 21st century at the time, while its tour broke the band's own record for fastest-selling tour.
Since 2014, following the departures of Williams and Orange, Take That has performed as a trio. Their ninth studio album, "This Life", released in November 2023, was a major commercial success. Earlier this year, Netflix released a three-part documentary series on the band's history. Their "The Circus Live" tour is currently underway, and the first two singles from an upcoming album have already been released — "You're a Superstar" in March and "Sweet July" four months later. Promoters say Tartu audiences can expect an evening combining old hits with new material. Take That last performed in Estonia in 2015, playing Tallinn's Saku Suurhall as part of their "III" tour.
