British viewers have a range of new programmes and episodes to choose from on Sunday evening, 8 November, according to The Guardian's daily television guide.

Travel series about Australia

At 9pm on Channel 4, «Stacey Dooley's Australia: Off the Beaten Track» begins. Journalist and presenter Stacey Dooley tries her hand at a travel show, visiting lesser-known parts of Australia. The first episode takes her to Kangaroo Island, which was badly hit by bushfires in 2019 and 2020. The programme looks at how the island's wildlife is recovering, and Dooley meets a couple who set up a refuge for orphaned baby kangaroos after the fires.

Other BBC programmes

At 6.40pm on BBC One, the children's adaptation «The Reluctant Vampire», based on Eric Morecambe's children's book, reaches its finale. Young prince Valentine, played by Lenny Rush, must decide whether to admit he is human before his coming-of-age vampire ceremony.

At 8pm, BBC One shows an episode of the nature documentary «Blue Planet III» about the open oceans, featuring rough-toothed dolphins and the mola mola, or sun fish. At 9pm the drama «This City Is Ours» continues, while BBC Two airs the fishing programme «Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing», in which Bob and Paul visit Shetland. On ITV1 at 9pm, the series «Adultery» continues, with tension between the Kirkman and Brookes families.

Films and sport

Sky Arts shows Billy Wilder's 1959 comedy «Some Like It Hot» at 8pm. After 11.30pm, Channel 4 screens «The Kitchen», the directing debut of Daniel Kaluuya and Kibwe Tavares.

For sports fans, Sky Sports shows the Premier League football match between Crystal Palace and Liverpool live at 12.30pm, followed by Manchester United against Aston Villa at 4.25pm. ITV1 broadcasts the Nations Championship rugby match between England and Australia at 2pm from Twickenham, with Maro Itoje leading the home side.
