Weekend in Latvia: Rain and Thunderstorms Expected, Warmer Weather Next Week
This weekend will bring mixed weather across Latvia with rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds, while the second half of next week will see warmer and sunnier conditions.
According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, the weekend will be mostly cloudy with occasional sunny spells. Rain is expected in many areas on both Saturday and Sunday, along with thunderstorms and heavy downpours in some places.
On Saturday, a light to moderate west-northwest wind will blow, but along the coast it will be moderate to strong with gusts of 15–19 m/s. Sunday will see similar wind conditions, with gusts of 15–17 m/s at night on the coast and during the day also further inland.
Nighttime temperatures will range from +11°C to +17°C, while daytime highs will reach +17°C to +23°C.
Next week, cyclonic activity will dominate Latvia's weather, bringing frequent clouds and precipitation. The first half of the week will be moderately warm, with temperatures averaging around +20°C. Starting Friday, a warmer air mass will gradually move into Latvia, making the weather more pleasant with more sunshine and less rainfall.
