Traffic light and turn lane planned for Liepāja highway in Brocēni
Construction work is underway on the Liepāja highway in Brocēni, Saldus municipality, with traffic currently regulated by road signs; once finished, the site will get a traffic light and a separate turning lane, state road operator Latvijas Valsts ceļi reports.

Construction work is currently taking place on the Liepāja highway in Brocēni, a town in Saldus municipality, according to the state road authority Latvijas Valsts ceļi (LVC).
While the work continues, traffic through the site is not following the normal permanent scheme — instead, movement is being directed by temporary road signs. Drivers passing through the area should expect the usual traffic pattern to be altered and are advised to follow the posted signage.
What will change once work is finished
LVC states that once construction is complete, a traffic light will be installed at this section of the Liepāja highway in Brocēni. In addition, a separate lane will be created for vehicles turning off the highway. The aim of the change is to bring more order to traffic flow at a location that has so far operated without light-controlled regulation.
The company has not specified an exact completion date for the works. It is urging drivers travelling through Brocēni on the Liepāja highway to stay alert and follow the temporary road signs for as long as construction continues. Once the new traffic light and turning lane are in place, traffic through the section is expected to become better organised and safer, both for vehicles continuing straight along the highway and those turning off it.
