Budanov: I'm ready to talk to the enemy, intelligence work taught me that

Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's Presidential Office, described his approach to negotiating with the enemy in a Thursday interview with Latvian Television. He said he has no difficulty speaking with an adversary, a skill he developed while spending most of his career in intelligence service.

According to Budanov, his years in intelligence specifically taught him how to work with an opponent, and this experience has also proven useful in the diplomatic sphere.

Role in talks with Russia

Budanov headed the Ukrainian delegation during the most recent round of trilateral negotiations with Russia, held in February in Geneva. Those talks were part of broader efforts to find a way to end the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

Budanov, long associated with Ukraine's military intelligence service, now holds one of the top positions within Ukraine's presidential administration. His remarks to Latvian Television suggest he remains one of the most influential figures in Ukraine's leadership, directly involved in both military and diplomatic matters.
