Powerful explosions rang out in the Bucha district of Kyiv region on the evening of August 28. A fire broke out at a warehouse facility, forcing authorities to fully close traffic on a stretch of a major transport route.
Traffic was halted on the M-06 "Kyiv–Chop" highway between the 15th and 32nd kilometers, in both directions. The closure was reported on social media by Kyiv region official Biloshytskyi, who stated that the restriction applied to all vehicles.
Police published detour routes and urged drivers to take this information into account when planning their trips. It was not immediately specified what caused the road closure.
Fire near the Zhytomyr highway
Earlier, Kyiv-based public channels had reported powerful explosions near the Zhytomyr highway outside Kyiv, where a large fire broke out. Smoke from the blaze reportedly could be seen even in Kyiv itself.
Later, Kyiv Regional Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko confirmed that warehouse facilities in the Bucha district were on fire as a result of an enemy attack. The fire is accompanied by explosions.
