Butirins to Continue Career at US College, Joins Kansas City Roos
Latvian basketball player Butirins transfers to the University of Missouri–Kansas City Roos.

Latvian basketball player Butirins is continuing his career in the United States, joining the Kansas City Roos. The University of Missouri–Kansas City team officially announced his addition to the roster.
Last season, Butirins played for VEF Rīga. In 20 regular-season games of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League (LIBL), he averaged 2.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game. In four playoff matches, he averaged 0.8 points.
Previously, during the 2024/2025 season, Butirins played in Portugal for the Benfica Lisbon system. From 2020 to 2024, he was part of VEF Rīga. The 22-year-old has represented Latvia at the U-16, U-19, and U-20 youth levels.
