BYD updates Yuan UP/Atto 2 for Chinese market, prices still start at €9,700
BYD has unveiled an updated version of the Yuan UP, known elsewhere as the Atto 2, adding a longer-range variant and interior upgrades while keeping the starting price at roughly 74,800 yuan, about €9,700.
BYD has refreshed its Yuan UP Feichi Edition electric vehicle for the Chinese market — sold in other regions as the BYD Atto 2 — introducing several upgrades while keeping the starting price unchanged at 74,800 yuan, approximately €9,700.
All five trim levels now share a single 70 kW (94 hp) electric motor producing 180 Nm of torque, narrowing the powertrain lineup compared to before. At the same time, a new longer-range variant has been added, extending driving range by roughly 100 kilometers over previous versions.
Range and charging
The new long-range variant uses a 51.13 kWh battery and can travel up to 501 kilometers under China's CLTC test cycle, equivalent to roughly 370 kilometers under the European WLTC standard. Shorter-range versions remain available as well, rated at 301 and 401 kilometers under CLTC (about 220 and 300 kilometers under WLTC, respectively). Fast charging from 30% to 80% takes around 30 minutes.
Interior changes
The cabin has also been updated. The gear selector has moved to the steering column, freeing up extra storage space at the front of the cabin. The car now features a 12.8-inch rotating central touchscreen, a redesigned steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and an NFC smartphone key function. Select trims also offer the DiPilot C driver-assistance system with automatic parking.
The top trim level is priced at 104,800 yuan, roughly €13,600. The Yuan UP continues to post strong sales in China, with 22,958 units sold in August 2026, as it competes against other compact crossovers including the Galaxy Xingyuan, marketed elsewhere as the Geely EX2.
