Chinese carmaker BYD has announced a significant production milestone, having built the 10-millionth vehicle in its Dynasty model series. The anniversary car is the newly launched large sedan Da Han. Reaching this figure took BYD 13 years of production, dating back to 2013 when the Dynasty line began with the Qin model.

The Dynasty series currently comprises six model lines — Tang, Han, Qin, Song, Yuan and Xia — together making up roughly 27 different models and variants. The series is one of BYD's main sales drivers: of the 15 million new-energy vehicles the company has sold overall, around 9 million belong to the Dynasty lineup.

The anniversary model, Da Han

The Da Han that earned the anniversary distinction is a 5.26-metre-long sedan featuring air suspension, rear-wheel steering and the DiPilot 300 driver-assistance system. The base version, powered by a single electric motor, produces 496 hp, and with a 102.3 kWh battery it can travel up to 1,008 km on the CLTC testing cycle. The most powerful all-wheel-drive version delivers 764 hp and can cover up to 880 km on a single charge under CLTC conditions.

In China, the Da Han starts at 249,900 yuan, roughly €32,800. It's also worth noting that among the Dynasty-series models, the BYD Han and Tang are already offered in the European market as well.
