Video of Carnikava dog attack shows bystander filming instead of helping

A brief video clip has appeared online showing the scene in Carnikava where, earlier today, two unsupervised dogs bit six children from the "Riekstiņš" kindergarten during a walk, also injuring one of the teachers accompanying them. According to earlier reports, two of the injured children were hospitalized and underwent surgery, while the rest of those affected were able to go home.

The clip, which appears to have originated from someone's social media account, has since been shared widely by other users. Watching the footage raises an obvious question: why did the person recording it — who appears to have been sitting in a car — choose to film the scene instead of helping the group of people being attacked by the dogs at that moment.

Search for the person who filmed it

Many people online are now trying to identify the author of the video in order to hold them accountable for their behavior during the incident.

Four administrative violation proceedings have already been launched in connection with the dog attack. The Food and Veterinary Service will carry out a further assessment of the dogs involved.
