In the first match of the day in Group A, played in Atlanta, the Czech Republic and South Africa drew 1-1.
Later tonight, Canada will face Qatar in Vancouver at 1 AM Latvian time, and Mexico will host South Korea in Zapopan at 4 AM.

This is the first World Cup finals with 48 teams, taking place in Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The 48 teams are divided into 12 groups. The top two from each group, along with the eight best third-placed teams, advance to the knockout stage.
The group stage ends on June 27, with the knockout rounds starting the following day. Semi-finals are scheduled for July 14 and 15, the third-place match on July 18, and the final on July 19.
