Germany's reigning champions Bayern Munich and England's reigning champions Arsenal of London meet tonight at the Allianz Arena in Munich in a league-phase match of the UEFA Champions League, Europe's top club football competition. Kickoff is at 22:00 Latvian time, and the match will be broadcast live on the Go3 platform.

Form of the two sides

Bayern have begun the defence of their domestic title well: after six Bundesliga matches they have 14 points and top the table. Arsenal have 18 points from seven Premier League games and sit second.

In the Champions League, Arsenal are one of 11 teams to have opened the season with two wins. Bayern beat Norway's Bodo/Glimt 5-0 in their first match, but last weekend drew 3-3 with another Norwegian club, Viking of Stavanger.

Team news

Against Viking, Bayern lost more than points: Michael Olise received a second red card for a lack of discipline and was sent off, so he cannot play against Arsenal. Bayern may also have to manage without head coach Vincent Kompany, who is still recovering from a virus and missed both the team's final training session and the media briefing. Jamal Musiala is out injured, while goalkeeper Manuel Neuer continues to deal with a foot injury, so his participation is uncertain.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed at a press conference that Martin Zubimendi is back in the squad and will be involved in the match. In defence, Arsenal remain without the injured William Saliba.

Other matches tonight

At 19:45, Como face Manchester United and Lille play Galatasaray. At 22:00, alongside Bayern v Arsenal, the fixtures are Sporting v LASK, Real Betis v Feyenoord, Inter v Shakhtar, Aston Villa v Viking, Club Brugge v Lens and Real Madrid v RB Leipzig.
