Fire Tornado Spotted in Chernobyl Exclusion Zone – Rescuers Share Dramatic Footage
Ukrainian emergency services have shown a fire tornado raging in the Chernobyl exclusion zone. The phenomenon has reportedly worsened air quality in Kyiv.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) has released striking footage showing a fire tornado—a whirlwind of flames, dust, and wind—sweeping through the Chernobyl exclusion zone in Kyiv region. Rescuers describe the spectacle as a destructive force where wind, dust, and flames merge into one. This is part of a larger fire that rescuers from Kyiv region are fighting continuously.
According to DSNS, the elements change direction every moment, testing people's endurance. Nevertheless, emergency workers bravely contain the fire day after day to prevent it from spreading further.
On July 3, air quality in Kyiv deteriorated significantly, leading authorities to advise residents to close windows and limit time spent outdoors.
