Four People Drown in Latvia Over Four Days; Fire Service Urges Safe Celebrations
In the past four days, four people have drowned in Latvian waters, and two more are missing. The State Fire and Rescue Service calls on the public to celebrate responsibly near water.

The State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) reports that water has claimed four lives in Latvia over the last four days. Rescue workers have recovered four drowned bodies from various water bodies, while two more possible victims are currently being searched for. These incidents coincide with the holiday period, when many people spend time near water. VUGD urges people to celebrate wisely and follow safety rules to avoid tragedies. The service reminds that swimming is only allowed in designated areas, and entering the water under the influence of alcohol is prohibited. Children must not be near water without adult supervision. The total number of drownings in Latvia this year has already exceeded last year's figures, and rescuers call on everyone to be responsible.
