Four-kilometer line at a gas station in Zabaykalsky region as fuel crisis deepens after drone strikes
A state of high alert was declared in Russia's Zabaykalsky region after Ukrainian drone attacks on oil refineries led to fuel shortages. A video shows a 4-km queue at a Rosneft station, with an estimated 600-800 cars waiting.
Ukrainian Telegram channels Exilenova+ and Supernova+ published a video on July 2 showing a massive line at a gas station. Meduza verified the footage and identified it as a Rosneft station in Atamanovka, Chita district. The line stretches for 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) and contains an estimated 600 to 800 cars.
On June 25, authorities in Russia's Zabaykalsky region declared a state of high alert due to a fuel crisis triggered by Ukrainian drone strikes on oil refineries. Residents have been waiting hours for fuel; one driver reported on June 30 that he had spent 36 hours in line.
The Rosneft station seen in the video receives its fuel from the Khabarovsk refinery, operated by NNK (Independent Oil and Gas Company). That facility has not been hit by Ukraine.
