Thursday to bring changeable weather with brief showers across Latvia

Latvia's Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre forecasts variable cloud cover across the country on Thursday, with brief rain showers expected in many areas during the day.

Forecasters warn that isolated thunderstorms are possible in some areas, potentially bringing heavy downpours. Wind will blow from the southwest and west at slow to moderate speeds, though it may strengthen to 15 meters per second along the coast. Daytime air temperatures will reach between +16 and +21 degrees Celsius.

Weather in Riga

In the capital, the morning and early afternoon are expected to bring intermittent rain from passing clouds. Conditions will improve later in the afternoon, however, as clouds clear and sunshine becomes more prominent while the rain stops. Wind in Riga will blow slowly to moderately from the southwest and south, with temperatures hovering around +20 degrees.
