Latvia to see noticeably cooler weather on Thursday, with scattered thunderstorms
After a warmer Wednesday, air temperatures in Latvia will drop to +12..+18°C on Thursday, with rain and possible thunderstorms in places, forecasters say. Riga will see changeable weather with sunny spells and temperatures of +14..+17°C.
Meteorologists forecast that Thursday, September 10, will bring noticeably cooler conditions to Latvia compared to Wednesday. Air temperatures across the country will range between +12 and +18°C both at night and during the day.
Skies will be mostly cloudy, though from midday onward clouds will start breaking up in the western part of the country, allowing sunshine to appear at times. Rain is expected at various points during the day, with thunderstorms possible in some areas.
Winds to strengthen
In the western and central parts of the country, southwesterly winds during the day are expected to strengthen, with gusts reaching 11–16 meters per second. Along the coast of southern Kurzeme, gusts of up to 20 meters per second are possible.
Weather in Riga
In the capital, Thursday will bring changeable conditions, with occasional rain alternating with sunny spells between clouds. Air temperatures in Riga will stay between +14 and +17°C both at night and during the day. Southwesterly wind gusts of up to 14 meters per second are expected during the day.
