Weather conditions across Latvia will differ significantly by region on Thursday, September 24, according to forecasters. Clouds will dominate the sky over most of the country, but the sunniest weather is expected in the western Kurzeme region, which will also see the warmest temperatures.
In Latgale and Vidzeme, starting from the border area with Russia, widespread and more prolonged rain is expected during the day. Elsewhere in the country, rain will be brief and scattered. A cyclone approaching from the southeast is influencing the weather pattern.
Daytime air temperatures will range from +10 degrees near the Russian border to +16 or even +17 degrees in western Latvia, including Kurzeme. Winds will be slow to moderate, blowing from the north or northwest.
In Riga, no significant precipitation is expected through the evening on Thursday, with air temperature reaching around +14 degrees. Atmospheric pressure at sea level is forecast to range between 1009 and 1013 hectopascals.
Those hoping for a sunny, warmer day are advised by forecasters to head to Kurzeme, while cloudy and rainy conditions will prevail in the eastern and northern regions.
